Domestic Landscape Design Services

Domestic landscaping projects include, swimming pools, water features, water tanks, watering systems, grey water treatment, spas, decks, pergolas, pathways, retaining walls, tennis courts, putting greens, bocce courts and more.

Landscape Design

The landscape design we create for you includes all landscape design elements agreed to for that project.

Full landscape construction notes to build the landscape can be included such as; site preparation, demolition works, soil preparation and conditioning, landscaping surfaces and finishes - mulches, hard surface treatments like paving, concrete, bitumen, gravel, exposed aggregate and the like. Built structures, steps, retaining walls, garden edging, pergolas, decks, fencing, letter boxes, barbecues, spas, pools, water features, ornaments and the like can be specified and documented for landscape construction purposes.

Required plants are specified and the plant legend can include minimum plant or container sizes at time of planting, planting instructions, ground preparation, staking, tying, watering and feeding.

Plants are specified to the degree required including a plant legend which can show minimum plant or container sizes at time of planting and other information. Planting instructions including ground preparation, staking, tying, watering and feeding are usually included.

Landscape concept plans can help clients (and tradespeople) visualize the design and also facilitate the passage through council.

Planting plans can be provided. They are great for garden make-overs.

Fairly Typical Residential Landscape Design

This garden design was created for a mature couple in Melbourne's inner east. Planning ahead for decreased mobility they requested disabled access features that enabled full use of the garden which was also carefully integrated into the buildings and site.

The clients inputted into the planting quite heavily and of course as this was a new home our landscape design had to be passed by the local council for planning purposes which it was. The couple took a major role in the selection of plants.

The resulting garden design was duly passed by council.

Are your trees healthy and safe?  Our consulting arborist services and tree reports will give you peace of mind.

Planning Permits

Planning applications often require landscape concept plans or full landscape designs as part of the planning or building application process and they can become quite complex.

There are sometimes many things to consider such as planning overlays, existing trees to the site or neighboring easements, boundary fencing and and other site considerations.

We have provided many creative solutions whether for landscaping, trees or other landscaping elements to private residences, dual occupancies, unit developments and large townhouse developments. We have designed whole streets of homes for some of Australia's major developers and builders.

Dependent upon the project type and location council requirements can be demanding. Councils may require site surveys, existing vegetation or tree details, neighboring elements, neighborhood analysis, native vegetation analysis or native vegetation offsets.

Project Management

We have been heavily involved in Project Management for many years and have now ventured forth into some management of smaller sized residential subdivisions.

We can project manage and supervise landscaping projects we have designed whether they be full projects or sometimes just parts of them.

The combination of landscape design, arboriculture and project management can cover lots of territory but it is great to be able to engage into and understand some of the more complex aspects of projects we become involved in.

Native vegetation laws can be a minefield and yet we understand them and therefore can incorporate their requirements into the project and manage those aspects of the design process.

So whether it be a residential landscape, a commercial development, tree issues or a land subdivision we have been there and done that and continue to do so.

Landscape Elements

Landscape elements like outdoor lighting, the selection of pavers, concrete surfaces, irrigation systems, water tanks, retaining wall systems or structures, plants, the location of simple things like clothes lines or sheds are all important.

Having been involved with landscaping and the industries revolving around it for many years we have knowledge of what will work and where the best materials including plants can be sourced. We know where the wholesalers are and can gain supplies at wholesale rates.

Some of our clients have saved the cost of the design as a result of the savings in material costs.

Site Surveys - Site Modeling

Site surveys or base plans define existing elements of a site. They may include existing buildings and other structures, height datum's, contours, a 3D site model, boundaries, service and easement locations, soil condition/type, tree and vegetation details, or neighborhood information. 3D is great to visualise or better understand real site conditions and structures.

New projects may have some of this information provided by the survey, planning or building drawings; if not we can assist to collect it.

At times 3D presentations may be required to adequately view elements of the design - if so we can provide them.

We have completed projects in 3D that have included elements such as disabled access ramps, retaining structures, the landscape design, building and other structural footprints, roads, footpaths and the like and have been able to swap our site modeling height data and details with the likes of consulting engineers.

Turn your ideas into reality. Please contact us.

Contact us by phone or email and we will discuss your project to establish which of our services you require, provide you with a preliminary cost estimate and set up a time to get together to discuss your project.
